First we should know all the benefits which come with these two activities so that we could compare these two end this debate of ‘Which one is better or both are equally good or not ?’ PLEASE read the whole post to get my conclusion on this topic.
Well, in simple language , cardio is any kind of activity in which you burn calories. It can also be referred as ‘ Aerobic Exercises ‘. You could consider any type of your daily activity as cardio like playing at evening, cycling, jogging, walking, swimming cleaning of house etc. If we do it regularly and properly, we would treat our body with many benefits such as-
- Improved cardiovascular health
- Lowered blood pressure
- Regulated blood sugar levels
- Aid in sleep
- Helps in losing weight
Now as you have learnt the benefits of cardio, let’s discuss weight training now.
So ‘weight training’ is a type of training in which we try to grow or maintain our skeletal muscles by lifting weights. (NOTE- Muscle building also involves diet with weight lifting) . With proper schedule of your weight lifting program , you could get a stellar body physique with a lot of benefits too like-
- It increases metabolism
- Improves bone density
- Big muscles
- It helps in preventing injury
- It improves strength
So now let’s end this debate of ‘Cardio vs Weight training’ .
Cardio helps in your weight loss for a short term as after a session of cardio you no longer burn calories but if you do Weight Training your weight loss journey is affected for the long term as it increases your metabolism.
Although , in order to reap the most benefits, I would suggest you people to practice both. Because by doing ‘Cardio’ we would maintain our cardiovascular health at pretty decent levels and by doing ‘Weight Training’ we would increase our strength, muscles and metabolism.
