Have you ever wondered why the hell do some people say that we should ONLY eat before 8 pm? Well, here we are going to discuss just that.
First let’s understand that what do I actually mean by eating late or how much late. ‘Late Dinner’ means that you are having your dinner between 3 hours before you go to sleep till you have gone to sleep. For example, if you are going to sleep at 11 p.m then having “late dinner” means that you are eating between 8 p.m and just before you went to sleep.
Earlier the notion among people was that they could consume calories whenever they wish as a calorie’s value will remain the same throughout the day. BUT let me update you, the calories’ value might not change throughout the day but our body processes these calories differently at different times of day.
Actually when we crave for those servings in our fridge late night and eat them like hungry monsters, you are literally serving yourself with excess calories because you are no longing using those calories as metabolism slows down as we near the end of the day, so you store them as fat which eventually results in weight gain or even if you don’t gain weight you are more likely to lose weight slower . HOWEVER, this tendency of body of not using these “Late night” calories depends on person to person.
Although there are various other reasons also why you should restrain yourself from having a late dinner –
- Weight Gain
- Slow Weight loss
- Disturbed digestion
- High acidity
- Increases cholesterol levels
- Lowers concentration levels
